Modge Podge

Today I will be giving you some mod podge recipes.  This is so easy to make at home and I am sure that it is cheaper.  Now a days so many people use it for their crafting/DIY-ing projects.  What an awesome product that can be used for so many things.

Matte Modge Podge Pint

Fill jar half way up with white glue (like Elmer's Glue)
Then fill up with water.
Shake Well.

For a Gloss Finish

Add 1 tbsp. of clear water based varnish and shake it well.

Another Modge Podge Recipe

This is one of those recipes where you experiment till you get the product you like.  If you like it more glossy, you add oil, if you want it thicker add more flour, etc.

Needs:
Stove
Sauce Pans
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp oil (vegetable or olive)
1/4 tsp granula sugar
1 spoon
Mason Jar
1 cup water

Take the saucepan and put it on Medium to Low heat on the stove.
Add the 1 1/2 cups flour and 1/4 cup sugar.  Pour in water and oil.

You shouldn't add the flour and water until you get your desired consistency as these measurements are just ideas of what you may want.

If you would like a higher varnish you should add more oil.

Stir the ingredients well for about 5-10 minutes but make sure not to boil the mixture.  Stirring constantly until well mixed.

Let the modge podge cool before sealing the container.

All done and you have another great recipe!

*Note*  If you have compared store bought with one of these recipes, we would love to hear from you.  Which one do you prefer and why?

Thanks for stopping by,
Kylara
