Static Cling or Not

I bet you guessed today's subject with the post title.  Yes ladies and gentlemen, we are going to be discussing homemade dryer sheets today.

I know that in my home, with G being in outside sales, I need to make sure that he looks the best he can, and I will be honest, I hate ironing.  Like I hate it, and it doesn't get done around here.  So static cling, wrinkles, and scent are a big issue for us.

We stopped using dryer sheets awhile back and went back to fabric softener but due to the research for this post I have decided to try one of the methods of homemade dryer sheets.

Here is a list of dryer sheet recipes.

Method 1
Using 4 dishcloths, place into a container and drench with your fabric softener.  You may use any type of softener, even a homemade version.  Let cloths dry completely and then throw one cloth into your dryer and this can be used approx. 15 times before you need to repeat the steps again. So by doing 4 cloths you should be good for 2 months approx.

This is the method that I will be using this month to see if we enjoy the outcome.

Method 2
Cut some used/recycled cloth into rectangles that would fit into an old container of diaper wipes.  Place all of the cloths into the container, using 1/4 cup of fabric softener (store bought or homemade), 3/4 cup of water poured into a bowl, mix up and then pour onto cloths.  Let them sit for at least an hour. Place lid on, and shake to evenly distribute the soap mixture before placing one into the dryer.

This method uses one sheet per load.

Method 3
You will  need the following supplies; 1 bottle of fabric softener, 1 spray bottle, 1 wash cloth, and water.  Pour 1  cup of fabric softener into the spray bottle and then add 2 cups of water.  Swish not shake the bottle to mix.  Spray cloth till damp all over and place into your dryer.  This cloth should last 3-4 times before you need to spray it again.

Method 4
Dipping your cloths into fabric softener, you then ring each one, and allow to dry.  Toss into dryer each load.  Each sheet is usable 12 times or more.

Do you have another recipe for dryer sheets?  If so please comment below and let our readers know.  Do you like one method more then the other?  Let us know your favorite.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kylara

I think I like the idea of #3 the best. Space is limited in my house and I wonder if laying out the cloths to dry would be to strong of a smell????

Let me know how this works for you!

Take Care,
